The foreign nationals mainly from the continent are seen leaving the country through the land border and some are still stranded in some parts of the country where the xenophobic attacks happened. According to the Border Management Authority, approximately 600 Mozambican nationals fled Mossel Bay and returned to their home country in the aftermath of the violence. Nearly a week after the incidents, around 100 foreign nationals from neighboring countries, including Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe, were reported to be stranded in a community hall in Mossel Bay, with their belongings, under police protection.
